When you enter into a contract with Vintage China Hire you automatically enter into the terms and conditions of our hire contract as set out below. Each hirer is required to sign a copy of these terms and conditions at the time of booking.
Hire Period:
The hired items will be delivered to the venue of your choice one/two days prior to the event, and collected the day after. Should you wish to hire the goods for a longer period please request a quote. In the event of goods not being ready for pick up the following day a £30 per day late return fee will incur until the goods are ready.
Pricing:
All prices include a wash up service and delivery and collection within
a 50 mile radius.
Payment and Deposit:
1. A deposit of £50 is required to secure your booking. The balance of the order must be made two weeks prior to the event/hire date.
2. A refundable damage deposit of £100 is also required. This is due when the
balance of the order is paid. This damage deposit of £100 will be refunded in
the same method it was paid within 3 working days once all hired items have been
checked for any damage or loss of items. This usually takes approximately three
days.
3. Should the cost of damage or loss exceed the damage deposit, the hirer agrees
to pay the balance of the replacement costs.
4. No items will be released for use until full payment of the total order amount
and the damage deposit has been paid and cleared.
Cancellation Policy:
If the order is cancelled by the hirer up to two weeks prior to the function,
the £50 paid at time of booking will not be refunded. Cancellation
less than two weeks prior to the function, only the damage deposit will be refunded.
Wash Up Service:
All goods supplied by Vintage China Hire are clean and ready to use. Vintage
China Hire ask that hirers do not wash or clean any of the items
after use, to avoid any risk of breakage. Cleaning charges are incorporated
into the hireage fees. Vintage China Hire simply requires the hirer to
carefully rinse the china and safely return each item to its original protective
packaging. We will take care of the rest.
Availability:
All the items in the Vintage China Hire Collection are no longer in production therefore we cannot guarantee specific colours or sizes. Whenever possible we will do our best to work with any chosen requests for your event. You are hiring a range of mix and match china.
Breakages/Replacement Value:
The hirer is responsible for the goods from the time they are delivered and collected by Vintage China Hire and only ends when the goods are back in the possession of Vintage China Hire and have been checked for loss or damage. The hirer's responsibility includes the safekeeping and protection of all goods whist in their care. All goods should be signed for upon receipt and checked off against the accompanying delivery note. No discrepancies or faults will be accepted unless notified within 24 hours of delivery. Any items left at unattended premises are at the hirer's risk.
Upon return of the goods, any losses or breakages will be reported to the hirer within 3 working days of return and charged at replacement cost. These charges will be taken from the damage deposit. Should the replacement value of any loss or damage exceed the value of the damage deposit, the hirer agrees to pay the balance. If no damage or loss is found the damage deposit will be refunded within 3 working days in the same method it was paid.
In view of the age and fragile nature of some of the china supplied, it must be understood that some items are much more easily prone to damage than commercial use catering crockery. Please ensure you take extra care when stacking and handling. Most items in the collection are vintage therefore replacement costs can be expensive, and in some cases are irreplaceable. These are as follows:
£15 per China Trio (tea cup, saucer and side plate).
£15 per Tea Pot.
£5 per Milk Jug.
£5 per Sugar Bowl.
£25 per Cake Stand (glass or china).
£20 per Cupcake Stand.
Please Note: Damage or loss to just one item from a China Trio will result in the full replacement cost being charged.
Condition of Goods:
All goods supplied by Vintage China Hire are clean and undamaged. Given the age of these items it is expected that some of the patterns, gilt edges, and silver-plating on many of the vintage items will be worn with age.
Responsibility:
Vintage China Hire takes no responsibility in the event of any injury to any
party through breakage of any equipment or any other accident during hire period. The
hirer is responsible for the goods from the time they are delivered/collected
and only ends when the goods are back in the possession of Vintage
China Hire and have been checked for loss or damage. The hirer’s responsibility
includes safekeeping and protection of the goods in their care.
Goods supplied at all times remain the property of Vintage China Hire.
